An Iconic figure at the IIAH. We just call it “Hildreth”

Hildreth is an outstanding example of what Theo Jansen meant by art and engineering!

Built by the Hildreth brothers of Harvard, Ma circa 1880

Hildreth consists of two platforms and knife edges, belt driven using flywheel and e.g. Hit-Miss engine we will see later

Two platforms, operated by 3 (or more) people: 1 engineer, a person at each platform.
